Sushmita Sen Reveals Nobody Is Allowed To Gift Her Diamonds, Not Even Her Boyfriend Rohman Shawl
Sushmita Sen shared that she does not like anyone getting her diamonds.
Sushmita Sen is one of the strongest women the industry has ever seen. She has been breaking barriers and setting records ever since she won the Miss Universe 1994 pageant. Her relationship with Rohman Shawl, despite the age difference, is also an exemplar of true love. And how does a modern Indian woman operate at that? Like Sush does. She can buy her own diamonds, and does not need a man to give them to her. And so does Sushmita Sen swear by.
Sushmita says she does not let her boyfriend Rohman Shawl buy her diamonds. The former beauty queen was recently quizzed if she holds any diamonds or jewels gifted by her boyfriend. To this, she told Zoom TV, "I do not allow friends to gift me diamonds. That does not happen. I buy them, I like gifting them.”
Recalling the first diamond she bought, the actress said that the first diamond she bought was a “ten-cent diamond with a pure gold band that had an open-ended thing” that could be adjusted for size. “After that, I graduated slowly to 22 carat," she said.
Earlier, Sushmita Sen had famously said that ‘women must buy their own diamonds’. She said, “This I hold to this day. Size matters so that you can let the man know and see that either you match the size of my diamond or the size of my heart. Heart is going to be tough so work on the diamond please and make it bigger than this. It's important to set benchmarks for yourself.”
She had also shut down her engagement rumours with sass. “This ring is to remind me and all of you that I don’t need a man in my life to have diamonds. I can own them myself.”
Talking of Rohman, he recently got Sushmita's name inked on his arm. While it was just a temporary tattoo, the gesture was too adorable and Rohman’s sweet note along with the picture won their fans’ hearts. Sharing a glimpse of his tattoo on social media, he wrote alongside: “The ink isn’t permanent. The love is”.
Work-wise, Sushmita Sen recently wrapped up the shoot for the second season of the web series, 'Aarya'.
